Speech Pathology

When you have a child you are constantly wondering if everything is developing okay. Especially if it is your first child, you find yourself comparing them to all the other children at playgroup or day care. You might start to notice that there is a variation between children that can still be within the accepted expectation for their age.

Is is very easy to compare physical development and gross and fine motor skills but often it is harder to compare speech and language and you can often become so accustomed to the way your child speaks that it takes another person e.g. grandma or teacher to notice that your child may be having some difficulties.

So that you can be sure that your child is falling somewhere within that range in which children can be different but still OK and what to do if your child might be falling outside or below that range, I would like you to see Tyquin group as a point of contact for you to discuss any concerns you may have with your child.

Those concerns may include:
Language
Speech
Voice
Fluency
Reading – see reading clinic
Spelling - see reading clinic
